VGA cables are a common way to transfer signals from a PC to a TFT monitor or projector. Even long distances of up to 30 meters can be transmitted without any problems. Please make sure, however, that a VGA signal amplifier is useful for longer distances.
However, VGA cables are not designed for the transmission of content in a higher resolution. Use digital signal transmission at these points, e.g. with a DVI or HDMI cable.
