Promethean is one of the best-known manufacturers of digital solutions for school teaching. They have made it their resolution that digital teaching must be easy in every form and for every user! The new ActivPanel Element series focuses on three different classes of interactive displays that have been designed for collaborative teaching. The names of the model series are derived from the periodic table, illustrating Promethean's relationship to school teaching.

Vellum technology

Using Promethean's Vellum technology, students experience a natural and precise writing experience on the display. The surface not only reacts to the touch function via finger, but also interacts with all relevant components (battery-free pen).

Teaching software delivered

ActivInspire: An excellent whiteboard software that ideally supports your digital lessons. Easy to use and with different templates (subject, level), ActivInspire becomes an interactive tool in your classroom.

ClassFlow: A cloud-based solution that makes it easy to integrate mobile devices into lessons. This is the best way to present and discuss results on the large display. Simply pair your mobile device wirelessly with the desired display and mirror your screen in a controlled manner.

Integrated PC

Each display in the Element series has an integrated computer and is equipped with the Android Oreo 8.0 operating system. This means that each display is ready for use immediately after delivery and can actively support you in your teaching.

Audio system

Each display in the new series has an integrated audio system. Frontal stereo speakers provide an impressive sound, allowing video material to be played back without additional equipment.

Similarities & differences of the ActivPanel Element series in detail. What are the similarities of the Promethean Element Series?

Panel: In terms of panel technology and brightness, the displays of the Element series are on a comparable level. All three ActivPanels are equipped with a TFT LCD display with Direct-LED backlighting and a 4K UHD resolution with 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60 Hz. The response time of the panels is on a good level with 8 ms at a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The brightness of the displays is well positioned for normally lit classrooms with350 cd/m² or 400 cd/m² for the models from 86 inches.

Internal Android system: For the installation of apps and the use of internal applications, the Promethean ActivPanels Nickel, Cobalt and Titanium work with Android Oreo 8. The Android platform offers the possibility to install apps from a wide range of areas that enrich digital teaching

In addition to the Android system, all models can be equipped with an OPS PC, as they have the necessary OPS slot

What are the differences between the Promethean displays of the Element series? The price differences between the individual displays in the respective comparable sizes are manageable. So what are the differences between the individual models?

Scan rate

The scan rate is also a crucial point. Here, the Promethean Titanium series with a scan rate of 200 Hz is ahead of the Nickel and Cobalt series, which each offer 100 Hz. The scan rate itself stands for the scanning of the touch input. This means that you will see faster writing on a display with a 200 Hz scan rate than on a model with 100 Hz.

Computing power

In addition to the optional solution for an OPS calculator, the Promethean Element Series displays offer an internal system running Android . The system performance of this platform differs in the power level of the individual models.

They differ in terms of RAM, hard disk and graphics processor. The Promethean Titanium Display offers the strongest performance here with 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage and the strongest GPU ARM Mali-G51 MP4. With such performance, the internal computer offers a powerful platform for daily work with a wide range of Android apps.

Scope of delivery

In the scope of delivery, you will find different pens and wireless solutions, depending on the element series. While only an optional WLAN solution is available for the entry-level models of the Nickel series, the Titanium series offers the WLAN module, which also contains a Bluetooth interface, in the scope of delivery.

There is also a difference in the pens. While the Promethean Nickel Display comes with one pen, the Promethean Titanium Display comes with four pens that also have an eraser on top. In addition, there is a separate eraser for large areas.

Pen / Touch Feature

Besides the touch points, the touch features also play a role. Various features can be found here within the Element series. The inexpensive Nickel series offers the possibility of working with one identity, which, however, does not differentiate between pen and finger touch. The Titanium series, on the other hand, has two pen identities, which means that two users can write on the interactive display at the same time. In addition, there is a distinction between pen and touch input, which enables parallel work with pen and finger.

Different number of multitouch points

At first glance, the Promethen ActivPanel models differ in their interactivity. This means, for example, that they have a different number of touch points. For example, the entry-level Nickel series offers 15 touch points, while the Titanium series offers 20 touch points. The operation of the Promethean Titanium series is thus more comfortable, like that of the Nickel displays. Of course, it is also possible to work well with the 15 touch points, but it is somewhat easier with 20.
