Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

endooConnect, our school router, allows you to integrate BYOD devices into everyday school life without much technical effort. All user requests are routed to the internet via the endooConnect for this purpose. The out-of-school devices are thus kept in a network separate from the rest of the school network. At the same time, the use in everyday school life was directly considered during the development, so that the router directly enables the joint use of internal school services (such as file servers or wireless presentation media) from the different networks.

Youth Protection Filter

In addition to the login service, our servers also provide an always up-to-date youth protection filter, which was centrally integrated into the endoo system. In addition to the BPjM module from the Federal Review Board for Media Harmful to Young People, we also rely on a large blacklist to ensure optimal protection for pupils when surfing. You don't need to worry about administration, configuration and updating, as the filtering and updating is done centrally on our servers.

Hotspot

endooConnect uses a hotspot mode by default. This means that the WLAN network is freely accessible. In this way, all users have access to selected Internet pages, such as the school homepage or individual school services (NAS etc.). When accessing other internet pages, users are automatically redirected to our login page. There, they must then identify themselves with their personal login information. This does not require any configuration of the end devices.

Privacy and Security

Security and privacy are very important to endoo. Our servers are all located in Germany. Accordingly, the processing of data complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

BYOD Network

  • Device-based activation based on MAC addresses
• Access control can be replaced in favour of a simple "accept" field
• Permanent activation of school website also for users without further Internet access
• Login page can be customised if required (with school logo or similar)

Note: Please note that in addition to the endooConnect hardware, you will also receive the endooConnect Cloud subscription with a term of 5 years. Only after the 5 years do you need a separate Cloud subscription.
