Ultra-short throw versatility with zero offset
Panasonic has simplified the installation of ultra-short throw lenses and projectors with innovative zero-offset zoom lenses for DLP™ projectors. The new ELU20 lens offers the same flexible ultra-short throw performance for selected LCD laser projectors, allowing exhibition designers to choose the projection display technology that best suits their needs. These lenses enable immersive and efficient LCD laser projection from short distances in museums and other exhibition spaces by combining cost-effective installation with vivid image quality and minimal shadowing.
Experience the following features:
- 200-inch (16:10) image from approximately 1.43 metres without screen offset or shadows
- Optical zoom and V/H lens shift increase flexibility in projector location
- Heat and scratch resistant glass lens reduces focus errors
- Compatible with PT-MZ880/PT-MZ780/PT-MZ680
Short throw distance reduces screen shadows
With a short throw ratio of 0.330-0.353:1 (WUXGA), both lenses support a minimum projection distance of approximately 1.43 m (4.69 ft) for a 200-inch (16:10) image. The viewer can approach the screen without casting a shadow, making the lenses ideal for projecting images onto passage walls or other narrow spaces.
Unrestricted view with zero screen offset
The lens enables image reproduction without screen offset, eliminating the distracting gap between the top of the image and the ceiling or projector mounting surface. Position the image from floor to ceiling above walls for seamless image coverage or fill the available screen area completely without gaps. The mirrorless design also eliminates lens overhang. Mount the projector directly to the ceiling and avoid the hassle and expense of recessing the projector into the ceiling to keep the screen clear in rooms with low ceilings.
Uniform brightness with lens-centred rear projection
Thanks to its mirrorless design, projectors can be placed in rear projection installations with lenses in the centre of the screen (instead of on the floor or ceiling). Brightness is distributed more evenly and colours are reproduced more evenly from the centre of the screen to the corners and edges.
Optical zoom helps installers to work quickly
Optical zoom increases the flexibility of the projector location. Installing a projector with a fixed ultra-short throw lens usually requires a high degree of precision, as installers sometimes have to remove, reposition and reattach the projector several times before the image can be properly placed. With the ELU20, once the projector is installed, adjustments can be made at the technician's convenience using electrically powered optical zoom and V/H Lens Shift* functions, saving time and labour and reducing the overall cost of installation.
V/H Lens Shift supports wide-range image adjustment
Lens shift, range of V: +50%, -20%, H: ±20% (ET-EMU100) and V: ±50%, H: ±24% (ET-ELU20) to shift the image further than comparable lenses in four directions from the home position without having to reposition the projector, for unrivalled flexibility in post-installation adjustment. It increases projector location flexibility when ceiling mounts or other obstructions limit ideal placement. For convenience, motorised zoom, lens shift and focus are performed via the projector remote control or the free Panasonic Smart Projector Control app.

Minimum Projection Ratio | 0.33 Minimum Projection Ratio Projection ratio: The projection ratio indicates at which projection distance a corresponding image width is achieved. This value depends on the lens installed.Example 1 - Calculating the distance: Projection ratio 1.4-1.8:1 Desired image width = 300cm Result: 420 - 540 cm distance (300 x 1.4 or 1.8). Example 2 - Calculation of possible image widths: Projection ratio 1.4-1.8:1 Projection distance = 560cm Result: 311 - 400cm image width (560 / 1.4 or 1.8). |
