Positioning

To achieve an optimal sound, the cardioid characteristic requires good alignment of the microphone. To make this easier, the integrated tie clip can be rotated in 90 degree increments.

Changing the cardioid polar pattern

The polar pattern can be changed to either supercardioid (R184B) or omnidirectional (R183B) by replacing the capsule.
